Forge Privacy Policy

Forge ("the app", "we", "us") is a strength training application for iOS developed by Ben Collins, Sydney, Australia. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. What we collect

• Account identifier: Your email address (used only to authenticate you and deliver your data across devices via Apple Sign In).
• Training data: Workout sessions, exercise sets, personal records, body weight entries, programme configuration, and training goals that you enter into the app.
• Derived readiness score: A 0–5 integer computed on your device from Apple HealthKit data (sleep duration, HRV, resting heart rate). Only this derived score is ever stored or transmitted — raw HealthKit readings never leave your device.
• AI usage counter: A count of the number of AI coaching requests you make per calendar month, used solely to enforce the monthly usage cap.

2. What we do not collect

• Raw HealthKit data (heart rate samples, sleep stages, HRV readings). These stay on your device.
• Location data.
• Advertising identifiers or third-party tracking data.
• Payment details (handled entirely by Apple's StoreKit — we never see your card or billing information).

3. How we use your data

• Cloud sync: Your training data is stored in Supabase (hosted in Sydney, Australia) so you can access it across devices and restore it after reinstalling the app.
• AI coaching: When you request AI coaching, your session history, personal records, body weight log, and derived readiness score are sent to an Anthropic API endpoint via a Supabase Edge Function. This data is used solely to generate your coaching response and is not retained by Anthropic beyond the API request.
• We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party for marketing or advertising purposes.

4. Data retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from within the app (Settings → Delete Account), which permanently removes all data from our servers within seconds.

5. Your rights

• Access: Your training data is visible to you in the app at all times.
• Deletion: Delete your account in-app (Settings → Delete Account) to permanently erase all data. This cannot be undone.
• Portability: Contact us at the address below to request an export of your data.

6. HealthKit

Forge requests read access to sleep analysis, heart rate variability, and resting heart rate from Apple HealthKit. This data is used solely to compute a 0–5 readiness score displayed within the app. Raw HealthKit values are never stored in our database, sent to our servers, or shared with any third party.

Forge requests write access to workouts to log completed sessions to Apple Health (duration and active energy estimate).

7. Children

Forge is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.

8. Changes to this policy

We will update this page if the policy changes and notify users via the app where material changes are made. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
